Welcome to Hamilton!  

ATU Local 107 is honoured to welcome you all to the City of Hamilton, Ontario for the 2024 ATU Canada Conference. Hamilton was founded in 1816 by George Hamilton and quickly became a key transportation hub and industrial center, thanks to its strategic location and rich natural resources. The city grew rapidly with the development of a strong steel industry, earning the nickname “Steel City”. Over the 19th and 20th centuries, Hamilton diversified its economy, incorporating sectors like healthcare, education, and technology. Today, Hamilton is celebrated for its cultural diversity, vibrant arts scene, and stunning natural landscapes, including the Niagara Escarpment and numerous waterfalls.

This is a milestone year, and we are proud to celebrate our 125th Anniversary of representing our members — the workers of Hamilton Street Railway (HSR). Throughout our history Local 107 has continued to fight for better wages, benefits, working conditions, and to protect our members’ rights. We look forward to seeing what we can achieve over the next twenty-five years.
