On behalf of the entire Amalgamated Transit Union, I am honoured to welcome each and every one of you to the 2026 ATU Canada Conference in beautiful Halifax, Nova Scotia.

In the spirit of our conference theme, “Power in Motion,” we salute the steadfast dedication of our members across this great nation. With bravery, grace, and professionalism, you show up to work, moving our communities, organizing your workplaces, and securing strong contracts.

From Local 1557-Gatineau, QC, waging a successful strike to Local 107-Hamilton, ON, organizing 400 school bus workers to Local 588-Regina, SK, Local 741-London, ON, Local 1415-Banff, AB, and Local 1775-Barrie, ON, authorizing strikes, to the historic win in the House of Commons on Bill C-14, the Bail and Sentencing Reform Act expanding the Criminal Code of Canada for every transit worker, our Union has displayed strength and solidarity

At this conference, we come together to learn, strategize, and lift each other up by sharing our experiences, our struggles, and our victories. Your insights, experiences, and voices are critical to our shared commitment to continuing the fight to advance the rights, protections, and interests of our members and our passengers.
