Dear ATU Canada National Conference attendees,
It’s my honour to welcome you to the 2025 ATU Canada Conference. In the spirit of this year’s conference theme, “Building Power,” we salute the solidarity, victories, and unwavering commitment of our members across the country.
With bravery and professionalism, over the past year, our Union has demonstrated strength and unity. From the successful Local-1724-Vancouver, BC, HandyDart 18-day strike to the organizing drive to bring 133 paratransit workers into our Local 741-London, ON, to our Local 1573-Brampton, ON, campaign to secure a strong contract, and countless other campaigns, you keep showing up to work, moving our communities, organizing your workplaces, and securing strong contracts.
Last Month, many of you attended our inspirational 61st International Convention in New York City, where our delegates laid out our strategic vision for our Union to build power for our members, deal with the changing technology in our industry, embrace equity, and address the challenges that arise in the ever-changing world. At this conference, united by a common purpose, we continue that important work to amplify our collective voice and advance the cause of our members’ and all workers’ rights.
Once again, welcome to this gathering of our Union’s Canadian labour leaders. Over the next few days, we will once again demonstrate that “Our Voice” is “Our Power!”
